Christmas Cast-a-Thon - Allie's Post

You know, whilst I was dreaming up the post for our Christmas Cast-a-Thon, I actually had no idea what kind of cast I was going to create, or what kind of movie it would end up being. I was more excited to see everyone else’s posts! But it would certainly be rude to not take part in your own blogathon! So here’s what I’ve come up with.

Christmas is the perfect time to watch cheesy movies without feeling guilty, so that’s exactly what I’m making here. I’m going for typical rom com with a Christmas flavour!

Santa - Benji, Mission Impossible Series (Simon Pegg)

Let’s say the IMF were shut down. When your entire career is a secret, your CV isn’t going to look that great, and so poor Benji is forced to work at a toy megastore as Santa over the Christmas holidays just to pay the rent.

Santa’s Helpers - Olive, Easy A (Emma Stone) & Winston, New Girl (Lamorne Morris)

Just because their job title is ‘Helper’ doesn’t mean they’re actually helpful! Olive is providing all the laughs here with her dry, sarcastic. humour, at the expense of everyone around her. Winston is looking for some extra cash on the side of his cop job, but he’s also Santa’s perfect wingman in his search for true love. Speaking of which…

Parents - Sabrina, The Change-Up (Olivia Wilde) & Owen, Jurassic World (Chris Pratt)

Married life as a legal secretary and a velociraptor handler is busy, and stressful, and that’s what ultimately led to the divorce of Sabrina and Owen. Sob. Luckily, Sabrina’s best friend Olive just so happens to work very closely with an eligible bachelor. See where this is going?

Child - Alexander, Alexander and the Terrible, Horrible, No Good, Very Bad Day (Ed Oxenbould)

Alexander is having another terrible day it seems. Not only have his parents just finalised their divorce, but he’s being dragged Christmas shopping with his Mum to meet up with his rude Aunt Olive who isn’t even his Aunt, and he’s reached that age where he’s 99.9% certain Santa isn’t real.

Scrooge/Grinch - Dwight, The Office (Rainn Wilson)

Let’s say Dunder Mifflin really did shut down in the end. Things were looking pretty bad, but now Dwight has secured a role as Assistant Store Manager (or should that be Assistant to the Store Manager?) at the city’s biggest toy store. Only thing is, he hates Christmas. The only thing he hates more than Christmas are the company’s new hires, Santa and his Helpers. They spend far too much work time chatting, and Dwight is going to make darn sure all three of them get fired.

Grandad - Bryan, The Taken Trilogy (Liam Neeson)

Let’s face it, if you’re going to end up dating the daughter of any Liam Neeson character, especially Bryan Mills, you best make sure you don’t hurt her feelings. Or he’ll find you. And kill you. Wait, no. This is a lighthearted movie! Cool it, Bryan!

Family Pet - Grumpy Cat, Grumpy Cat’s Worst Christmas Ever (Aubrey Plaza)

I’m cheating a little here. Last week I discovered that this movie existed. I scoffed that Grumpy Cat has his (her??) own Christmas movie. Then I noticed Grumpy Cat is voiced by Aubrey Plaza. Never before have I bought a DVD so quickly! I haven’t watched this yet, but come on, what Christmas Movie is complete without a (dis)loyal family pet?

That’s it! Would you ever consider watching my stereotypical, predictable Christmas Movie? I would, and then I’d add it to my list of guilty pleasures. Can’t wait to see what everyone else comes up with!

Review: Aloha (2015)

Whilst on the hunt for an easy to watch Rom Com type movie to pass the time the other evening, I stumbled across Aloha. This was the first time I’d ever heard of it but the cast list alone was enough for me to decide it was worth a shot. Check out this cast! Bradley Cooper, Emma Stone, Rachel McAdams, Bill Murray, John Krasinski, Danny McBride & Alec Baldwin. A winner for sure, right?

This is the part where I sum up the plot for you, in case you’ve never heard of the film. But I really can’t. I just don’t get what it’s about! Bradley Cooper is some kind of military/spaceman guy who’s been sent to Hawaii for a welcoming ceremony, Emma Stone is the military’s youngest and brightest, with the task to follow Bradley Cooper around like a lost puppy. John Krasinski is a colleague of Bradley Cooper’s who doesn’t talk to his wife, like, at all. Alec Baldwin and Bill Murray are important douchebags, and now my head hurts!

Aloha wasn’t a boring film at all, I was entertained throughout, but in the glimpses when I actually understood what was going on, the plot was terribly predictable which ruined the crucial moments. Both Emma Stone and John Krasinski are so great at that dry, sarcastic humour, and they just didn’t get the chance to shine this time around, which was a shame.

Admittedly, I know absolutely nothing about Hawaii’s history and culture. My knowledge goes as far as me excitedly exclaiming ‘Hey! Those kids are doing the same dance as the kids in Lilo & Stitch!’, which even I know is terribly ignorant of me. I think the whole film would have made more sense had I more knowledge on the subject matter, so I’m not blaming the film entirely here.

My favourite part was witnessing the changes in Rachel McAdams and John Krasinski’s relationship. I could really feel the heartbreak, and there was one particular scene that stood out for me, where Krasinski and Cooper are in the kitchen having a full blown conversation without saying a word. We as the audience know what they’re saying through the powers of subtitles, but their facial expressions match what they’re saying perfectly.

Overall, Aloha was enjoyable, but confusing, and sadly, a forgettable experience for me I think.

Review: Magic in the moonlight (2014)

Found this random little gem on my Sky Go app, I was bored doing my housework and wanted something to watch on my iPad so I could move it around with me while I was cleaning.  This was a great choice...

Colin Firth plays Stanley, a magician who appears to be able to solve any spiritual trickery he casts his eye over.  To that end he is brought to the South of France to meet Sophie Baker (Emma Stone), an American clairvoyant with powers to seemingly see into the past and the future without breaking sweat.  Stanley, initially adamant she must be a fraudster, quickly becomes infatuated with her and believes she is in fact telling the truth.

I have not watched a Woody Allen film before, not sure whether it is by choice or just chance but I'm glad this is the first one I watched.  I love Colin Firth and Emma Stone anyway so it already had good standing but the story was great, I loved the over dramatics (not unlike a magicians act on stage).  It had the opening, the confusion and the reveal at the end. 

I feel like there is some history in the casting that I should no about, the way some of the smaller parts that were cast almost had a cameo feel (Stanley's Aunt for example) so I think I'm going to have to do some reading up to see if they have prominence in Woody Allen's previous movies.

I think this may have given me food for thought on watching Woody Allen movies, any recommendations?

Thursday Movie Picks: Teen Comedies

This week’s theme is right up my street! If you’re not familiar with the Thursday Movie Picks, it’s an amazing thing hosted by Wandering Through the Shelves. Each week brings a new theme, and all you need to do is pick 3 movies that fit the bill to discuss. This week is Teen Comedies, which is a really difficult week for me. Difficult because teen comedies are a bit of a guilty pleasure for me! It’s okay to still enjoy them when you’re well into your twenties, right?

I could have happily put together a list of 20 movies this week, but I’ll behave, and pick my favourite 3.

I’m not ranking these three or anything, but if I could, Van Wilder would be my number 1, for so many reasons! This is Ryan Reynolds at his best, playing the most popular kid in college who doesn’t ever want to graduate. It’s your typical cheesy story, but man, I just love it so much. I haven’t seen the other Van Wilder films though, strangely enough.

It shames me to admit that I only saw Ferris Bueller’s Day Off for the first time recently, but if you read my review, you’ll know that already. Oh, how I wish I could go back in time to watch this again and again. Ferris pulls a sicky to get a day off school, and much fun ensues when his Principal and Sister try to catch him out. I wonder sometimes if this film influenced the cartoon Phineas & Ferb in any way?

Hoping that it’s acceptable to still love teen comedies in your twenties...have I ever mentioned how much I love Easy A? I can’t even pretend I saw this in my teens, as I was...21 when it came out. Oops. Emma Stone is in top form here, using the school’s rumour mill to her advantage when she spreads a lie about her virginity. 

Review: Birdman (2014)

Birdman had me excited when I very first heard about it, probably 5 months ago at a guess, so I can’t believe it’s taken me so long to get round to watching it! I’m so determined to watch all of the Oscar nominated Best Picture films this year, but this one certainly wasn’t a chore to tick off the list.  I think we are doing pretty well on the Oscars tick list :-)  I wasn't that excited about this to be fair but I should have been, it was much better than I expected!

Riggan Thompson (Michael Keaton) is best known for his role of superhero Birdman, over twenty years ago. The franchise was so popular that you could perhaps say that Birdman himself is more famous than the man behind the mask. Riggan now finds himself trying to reprise his career and get his name back out there, and he does so by writing, directing and starring in a Broadway show. He faces numerous problems in the run up to the opening night, not helped by the voice of Birdman in his head and the strange super powers he seems to have.  

The mood and theme of the whole film is easily summed up in the first five minutes as we see Riggan in his room, seemingly meditating, in mid-air, in his pants. His first line is a complaint about how the room smelt like balls, and well, I’m laughing just from typing it! I find dark comedies very hit and miss at times, but this just hit the spot for me.  It felt very inadvertently funny, like it wasn't trying to be funny but that made you laugh.  Zack Galifianakis made me laugh in every scene he was in, even though I'm not sure he was supposed to.

Really early on I noticed some key similarities between Birdman and Iron Man, the poster in the dressing room was very similar to the Iron Man 3 poster and, I thought Keaton resembled an older version of Robert Downey Jr.  I wondered for the first 30 minutes or so if it was sort of based on RDJ and Iron Man but then it specifically mentioned them in a news story. Admittedly, I was a but disappointed that my theory didn't pan out!

I’m not one to pick up on anything technical when watching films, but I loved the camera work (and editing?) in Birdman. Sure, there are long takes which must have been a pain in the butt for the actors involved, but the entire film looked like one take. If you look for it, you can tell where the breaks are, but it’s just so clever! This is the first film I have seen that has used this technique and i absolutely loved it.  I had read beforehand that it was shot as one long scene so I was really looking out for it, however I needn't have known, it was pretty obvious.  It gave the whole film a realistic feel, you almost felt as if you were there walking through the halls of the theatre.  It was so clever.

It pains me to admit I’ve seen very little of Edward Norton. I saw him last in The Grand Budapest Hotel, and the last film I saw where he had a major role was Fight Club. He’s an absolute legend in Birdman, and I will have a strop at Jenna’s if he doesn't win Best Supporting Actor. His character, Mike, makes you hate him and then love him within minutes of each other, and he’s got such a charm about him. I’m already jotting down his filmography… I however am a huge fan of Edward Norton ever since first seeing him in American History X, his character was truly evil in that but he played perfectly.  I think i have seen a fair bit of his work so far, but a quick check of the filmography may prove me wrong.

Speaking of Oscars...can Emma Stone have one too? YES YES YES!!! You already know how much I love her, but she really packs a punch in this. She’s so expressive! Heck, you might have already seen my tweet but just throw all the Oscars at Birdman. I’m sure I’ll change my mind again once I’ve seen some of the other Best Picture nominated films, but this is going to be one of my all time favourites.  I have yet to see all the films on the Best Picture list, but this is coming up pretty high on the list so far, I personally don't think Keaton will have a look in for Best Actor with Mr Redmayne in running, sorry but we all know it's true.

I like to keep reviews spoiler free so I’ll be brief here, but that ending! Can someone please invite me for coffee (I’ll have a green tea though thanks) so we can sit and talk about it for like, an hour? I already have 3 theories floating around in my head!  I think we need to discuss this because I have NO IDEA what to think!!

Review: Ghosts of Girlfriends Past (2009)

In my Best and Worst Emma Stone post I mentioned that I hadn't yet seen Ghosts of Girlfriends Past. Well, I soon corrected that the other night!

I watched this years ago, when I was going through my 'I only watch rom-coms phase'.  This may have been the film that pulled me out of that phase...

Matthew McConaughey plays Connor Mead, a fashion photographer who thinks he's god's gift to women. Whilst at his brother's wedding, he is visited by the ghost of his Uncle who warns him that his current lifestyle will only end in misery. Throughout the evening he is visited by 3 ghosts - sound familiar?

I actually really liked the idea, a twist on Charles Dickens' A Christmas Carol. Maybe I should have watched this in December rather than on the hottest day of the year so far in the UK? Anyway, I knew the plot would be predictable but I can forgive that for most romcoms. I didn't enjoy this film as much as I should have done, and I'm sorry but Matthew McConaughey is mostly to blame.

Don't get me wrong here. I have absolutely no problem with cocky, womanising characters in romcoms. Chris Brander in Just Friends? Love him. But there's just something about Matthew McConaughey that makes my skin crawl. I just don't get him! Every girl in this film who fawned over him needed a slap, especially that bridesmaid.

I have to agree I hated Matthew McConaughey's character but most of all I hated the plot of this film.  The film dragged and dragged, I felt no sympathy for any of the characters (particularly the women who threw themselves at an obvious womanizer), honestly I didn't even like the characters (and usually I am a fan of Jennifer Garner's work, if we pretend Elektra didn't happen of course!).  Surprisingly, as someone who usually loves the romcom genre no matter how predictable, I was bored, uninspired and wasn't even rooting for the couple in the end which is part of the the awesomeness of romcoms!

If you'll allow me to ramble slightly, I absolutely loved Emma Stone's character, it's a shame she played such a minor role. I also had a total blast from the past when I saw Breckin Meyer's character as the last thing I saw him in was Garfield! Sorry, back on track...

As I mentioned, you can probably guess the whole plot to the film before you press play, but despite that, it's enjoyable and there are plenty of funny parts. Some are just a little too over the top and others entirely un-realistic. If you're just about holding up a huge wedding cake about to topple over, would you not just shout for help rather than try to catch a champagne bottle with your foot to hold it up with?!

The only positives to the film for me were Michael Douglas as Connor Mead's hero and mentor, Uncle Wayne and Emma Stone's girlfriend flashback!

If it's sat on your 'to watch' list then give it a go, but if not, feel free to give Ghosts of Girlfriends Past a miss.

Personally, I would suggest give it a miss (unless of course you are trying to watch everything Emma Stone has been in!)

Best and Worst: Emma Stone

What feels like a lifetime ago, I created a post about the best and worst Ryan Reynolds films I'd seen. He was a great place to start because I'd actually seen all of his films that had been released! Or at least I thought, until I remembered Turbo. Jenna and I then started frantically searching IMDB for other actors or actresses we loved, and I realised that there were only 2 Emma Stone films I'd never seen, Ghosts of Girlfriends Past and Marmaduke.

 

I want maybe be a little controversial here and say that I don't think animated films should count. Not for this anyway. I've seen Ghosts of Girlfriends Past now but I really don't think Marmaduke is going to make it into the best or worst category. If you really disagree then speak up, and I'll watch it!

 

 

I'm telling you, this was such a hard decision. I was stuck between Zombieland, Easy A and Crazy, Stupid Love. I almost resorted to a game of 'eenie meenie miney mo' to choose, but then I thought about which one I'd watched the most, and then Crazy, Stupid, Love won hands down. I actually watched this for the first time because I love Steve Carell so much, but I didn't expect to love it as much as I did.

 

I'll try to do a proper review for this soon, but for now I'll focus on Emma Stone. This, for me, is the role she was born to play. It's the role that made me fall in love with her and if I could pick an actress to play me in a film about my life, it would be her. She's so elegant and beautiful, and yet at the same time she's an absolute klutz and comes out with some cracking one liners. If you've never seen this, go and see it now!

 

 

When I first heard about Movie 43 I was really excited. The cast looked amazing! I actually thought it would be a sort of spoof on Love Actually, and that the individual stories would tie in at the end, but no. It was just a series of sketches ranging from actually kind of funny to just plain awkward. Never again will I look at Hugh Jackman in the same way. I think it shows how bad this film is when my favourite sketch was done by an actor who I just really can't stand, Stephen Merchant.

 

Emma Stone's section wasn't too bad actually to be honest. It was pretty funny to begin with, but then it just turned a little awkward. I've lent Jenna the DVD and for her benefit, it's most definitely NSFD!

Review: Zombieland (2009)

I'm a bit of a wuss when it comes to scary films, I can't watch one on my own. The gore and psychological torment doesn't bother me so much, but it's those jumpy bits that have me running scared! Zombieland was on my Emma Stone list though so I was going to have to face this, and well, it is a comedy mainly, so I manned up.

I watched this for the first time with Jenna last year, and I convinced my other half to watch it with me again just before we went to Cornwall for a short break the other day. I actually forgot how jumpy the first five minutes are! I had already seen this and I told Allie it wasn't jumpy at all, forgetting completely about all the jumps in the first few scenes - oops!!

So this film follows four characters who are some of the only survivors on earth, Columbus (Eisenberg) is trying to get to his family in Ohio, Wichita and Little Rock (Stone and Breslin) are trying to reach an amusement park they have heard is free of zombies, and Tallahassee (Harrelson), well, he's just on a search for Twinkies. Who wouldn't be on a search for Twinkies mmmm!! You could say they sort of join forces on their missions.

*SPOILER ALERT* My favourite parts of this movie are all the little details like the text of the rules that pop up occasionally, and the zombie kill of the week. It's little details like those that really make you remember a film. Not to say that was all I liked, the film was hillarious! I probably would have appreciated the Bill Murray scenes more if I really knew who he was... WHAT???  You don't know who Bill Murray is??  Groundhog Day?? Ghostbusters?? COME ON!!!  Anyway, moving on, I love the text popping up on screen, I think it made this movie - I still would like to see the full list of the rules if I'm honest!  I think Rule Number 1 was my favourite because it kept popping up 'Cardio'

 

I loved Woody Harrelson's character in this, specifically “in the ass-kicking business – and business is gooooood!” and I could complete relate to his love for Twinkies!! The contrast between him and scaredy cat Columbus makes for brilliant viewing and good fast paced banter between the two.  This is one film that I didn't particularly like Emma Stone's character, although the further through the film I got the more I got to like her!

 

 

Seriously though this film is great, I also heard that it was based a little on the game Left 4 Dead 2 which makes me happy as I freaking love that game. Never heard of this... Okay, Flick Chicks needs a games night at some point. Left 4 Dead is amazing and I'm terrible at it which makes it even better.

A great film to watch with friends or family with a couple of drinks and a take-out!  Brilliant film, laugh out loud funny and delightfully clever.  Can happily watch this over and over again and never get bored!
 

 

Review: The Amazing Spider-Man 2

I finally went to the cinema to see this last week and I was not disappointed (as I knew I wouldn't be!) I am a huge fan of Andrew Garfield as Spider-Man and he completely lived up to my expectations, building on the character from the first film and making you love Spidey even more!! I had to wait till yesterday but I was seriously looking forward to this, the first one is probably one of my all time favourite comic films.

This sequel focuses mainly on Peter Parker (Garfield) trying to find out what happened to his parents as well as battling various enemies including Electro (Jamie Foxx), Green Goblin (Dane DeHaan) and - all be it briefly - Rhino (Paul Giamatti).  It also continues to build on the relationship between Parker and Gwen Stacy (Emma Stone), which personally is my favourite part, but I'm a sucker for a love story! How can you not be when it's Andrew Garfield and Emma Stone, probably the cutest couple on the planet ever?!

As a big fan of the Amazing Spider-Man film, I had high hopes for this and superficially I wasn't disappointed, the flying scenes were particularly impressive, even without 3D.  The comedy one liners from Spider-Man were there and the love story was there.  However, I did feel like the whole film came across a bit choppy and hard to follow.  One minute it's this bad guy, then it's that one and then this one is back and then oh look another different bad guy.  It almost felt like two different versions had been filmed and then cut and pasted together.  Certain parts of the film felt rushed while other parts dragged on and on.  When I left the cinema, I read the reviews as I do for every film and the Total Film review actually mentioned that MJ was going to be in this film and Shailene Woodley had filmed scenes but they were all cut. 

The comical moments were great, with one exception! Electro in Times Square, cue dramatic music, tens of police officers on standby, guns ready, and what does he say? "It's my Birthday...time to light my candles..." Urghhh... This clip below though? Comedy gold!

I wish I watched this at the IMAX Giant Screen like I did with the first, because some of the action scenes would have been incredible! They were great enough in 2D to be honest. My heart was literally racing throughout the final fight scene, it was incredible. I thought the film was fine to follow, but it all got a bit rushed at the end. There was really no need for Rhino at all, he was only really in it for about 5 minutes anyway.

I personally didn't see the big shock of the film coming, but after it happened I looked back at the whole film and they had been teasing and hinting at it all the way through, dragging it out unnecessarily I think.  I won't put any spoilers in here but it was a shock for me but it was clever as it curves away from what a comic book movie would normally do, if you have seen the film this will make perfect sense, if you haven't - well go and see it and get back to me!

I've read the comics so I knew what was coming, but damn they really didn't try to hide it. I've learnt from this to never like a film's Facebook page until you've seen it, as I saw a lot of people's angry reactions when a screenshot was posted with the caption 'Will Peter have to pay the ultimate price?'.

None of these 'issues' took away from my love of the film though, it held my attention and I was gripped from beginning to end.  I love the actors and the way they play these characters (although never saw Paul Giamatti as Rhino but it worked!!) and I did very much enjoy the story and would happily watch it again and again.

Great filming, great actors and great characters, if only the story had kept up this would have been a 9 for me. I can't give this a 10 because even I will point out some flaws, but I loved it and can't wait to see it again.

Looking Forward to in the Cinema this Month, April 2014

We like to mix things up a little around here, so we thought we would share with you what film we're most looking forward to watching in the cinema this month. Oddly, it's a fairly quiet month and after exchanging a few messages, we both fought over Spider-Man. Well, great minds think alike eh? And so, age before beauty and all that...I'll let Jenna kick us off!
 
Sorry for the delay on this one - only I could start the 'looking forward to in April' post on 17th April!! I'm a busy chick what can I say!  I did in fact steal The Amazing Spiderman 2 from Allie as I'm not totally convinced by Transcendence, I have seen the trailer more than once now and it just doesn't appeal to me!  Although I also thought I wouldn't enjoy Captain America:  The Winter Soldier and I loved it (review to follow!) so maybe my first impressions aren't as well founded as I thought.

Anyway, I bloody loved the first Amazing Spiderman film.  I thought I liked Tobey Maguire as Spiderman until I saw Andrew Garfield, he is perfect for this role (as is Emma Stone).  The various actors/actresses have perfect chemistry, particularly Garfield and Stone's Gwen Stacey who is a significant improvement on Kirsten Dunst's disappointing MJ in the first trilogy.

The trailer for this is jaw dropping, you can see why people enjoy these films in 3D (although I'm not personally a fan of 3D).  I can't wait to see the action, but moreso I want to see the development of the relationship between Peter and Gwen (I'm a sucker for a love story!!)

Okay so what did I pick? This.

If I can learn to spell Transcendence by myself by the time I watch this, I will be mega proud of myself! I'm still on the fence about this film, but I'm still really looking forward to seeing it. I'm just not sure I can imagine Johnny Depp in a serious role right now though. After watching Pirates of the Caribbean too many times, I just can't shake the image below out of my head!

The Jack Sparrow Run is actually a thing in my family now...if someone shouts it out loud the rest of us break into a run just like that. Gains us a lot of funny looks mind! - I love this!

But anyway, this is totally my kind of film, but I think it'll either be a completely jaw dropping, amazing film, or a complete let down. There's just no middle ground with that genre. If you haven't seen it already, here's the trailer.

Review: The House Bunny (2008)

My friends like to rant at me about films I haven't seen before. There are an awful lot of films I haven't seen, but in my defence, I only really got into films about 4 years ago, so I have a lot of catching up to do. I get gasps of horror when people find out that I've never watched The Godfather, or The Green Mile (which I have now seen, thank you), but I also earnt a gasp of horror from a couple of girl friends when they starting quoting this film and I had no idea what they were on about.

 

 

Last Saturday afternoon I cuddled up on the sofa with my kittens Loki and Sherlock, and we watched this together. My other half snorted and went to play a game, I think.

 

I want to start by saying that I really did enjoy this film. It's so funny! A little while in, I remembered why this film sounded so familiar to me. You see, every now and again I get a little obsessive over an actor or actress, and I make it my duty to work my way through their IMDB list. I think this all started with Jake Gyllenhaal when I was 14, and 10 years later I'm onto Benedict Cumberbatch. Anyway, back on track! I absolutely love Emma Stone, and so that's why this film was on my radar!

 

The film follows Shelley Darlingson, a playboy bunny who gets kicked out of the mansion, and has to find somewhere else to live. She comes across a sorority, led by Emma Stone's character, and becomes their house mother as she helps them to become popular and save their home.

 



Oh, this film really made me laugh! It isn't the greatest film I've ever seen but I've definitely seen worse. It's also a perfect chick flick so gets a big thumbs up here! Anna Faris is exactly what you would expect, but Emma Stone was amazing! She plays a massive geek quite scarily well and I love her even more after watching this. I have to share this moment with you below...



I was going to post this scene as well - this is by far my favourite moment in the whole film and I still quote it now!

I watched this film with a group of girl friends drinking wine and eating pizza and it is the perfect film for that.  We howled with laughter and compared ourselves to various characters throughout the film!  Adam Sandler's influence on this film is evident and as a big fan of (most) of his work (particularly the silly stuff, Billy Madison being my favourite!) the laughs were exactly to my taste.  I love Anna Faris and as I have recently taken to watching the American series Mom, I love her a little bit more! 

All in all, not a film everyone should rush out to see, but a perfect film to put on for a night in with the girls! Agreed!!
