Trivia Round-Up: November

Ok so we are a little behind this month and the end of November kind of crept up on us, but that hasn't stopped us...here it is, the November Trivia Round-up:

Homage to Steven Spielberg (director of "Jaws", the icon of shark phenomena in films): when the shark is on the Santa Monica pier and attempts to attack, they shove an air tank into its mouth to blow it up. That's how the shark in Jaws was finally killed. The second is in the same scene with the ferris wheel rolling down the pier - an homage to Spielberg's not-so-successful film, "1941". Third is when a shark lands in front of Grauman's Chinese Theatre, it falls just behind the sidewalk square with Spielberg's signature and handprints in cement. Fourth: When Nova and Matt go up in the helicopter and come up against the first tornado, Nova exclaims "We're gonna need a bigger chopper!" The original line in Jaws is "We're gonna need a bigger boat!" - IMDB http://www.imdb.com/title/tt2724064/trivia?ref_=tt_trv_trv

Sullivan Stapleton signed on not just for this film but for a potential sequel as well. Director Noam Murro has also expressed that this film leaves the door open for a third part.
I think it's time to leave 300 alone now!

This movie was a spin off from a short film of the same name from 2005.

According to actor Liam Neeson's account, the temperatures were as low as -40°C in Smithers (British Columbia) where the film was shot. The snow storms/scenes were actual prevailing weather conditions and not a cinematic illusion produced with CGI trickery.

Shaun walks past a road sign for Weston Park which is a street in Crouch End, London, the same locale as Spaced (1999) and where Simon Pegg now lives.
There's a silly amount of trivia for this film so I thought I'd find something you might not already know!

Around six different endings were created during filming.
Does anyone know any more about this? I'd love to know what those other endings were...

While filming, Joseph Gordon-Levitt rode his bike into a cab and smashed into the rear windshield, shattering it. He managed to block his face with his arms and needed 31 stitches on the right. Despite the large amount of blood streaming down his arm, he thought it was "f**king cool." He took responsibility saying, "No, but it was my fault, I was going too fast." Footage after the accident is shown in the end credits before the cast is listed.

  1. Interesting stuff, especially for Sharknado which I haven't seen yet. The Premium Rush thing is so fitting the way JGL's character felt about danger in that movie. Great post, ladies!,

    1. Doesn't it just? There were some amazing little trivia bits for that film actually, I kind of wish I knew about them before seeing the film itself!
