Flick Chicks Is On Hiatus

Hi guys. This post has been in the works for a week or so now, but I eventually realised there’s no point in flowering it up. This blog is going to go on hiatus for a while. For the last couple of months I’ve tried my hardest to keep Flick Chicks updated on it’s regular schedule whilst Jenna has been away, but it’s getting exhausting, and to be frank, I’ve ran out things to talk about.

December is my favourite month of the year, and my most busiest, so rather than dish out half hearted posts that I’ve rushed to put together I thought it best to take a break all together. The onslaught of brilliant cinema releases has been super useful for writing purposes, but at home I’ve found myself watching a movie for the sake of having something to write about, and that makes both the movie itself and the blogging not as fun as it should be.

I’m not going anywhere though, I promise you that. I’ll still be checking my feed everyday and reading everyone’s posts, I mean let's face it, how else am I going to know what I should be watching? Plus, I love you guys, and it’s you who make this so much fun to do.

As far as the future is concerned, I have plans. This year I feel like I’ve really found my passion for blogging, so much so that I’d like to expand my horizons a little. I want to read more books, and review those, I’d like to talk about some of the games I play, and Flick Chicks isn’t the place to do that. I still predominantly want to talk about movies, but I’d like to create a platform that allows me to combine all of my hobbies. If I do this, I think it’ll be in January, and I hope you guys will follow me over there.

With regards to Flick Chicks, I would love to continue this blog too, just not by myself. So if Jenna wants to come back, I’ll be back too, watch this space!

So I’m not really saying goodbye, because I’ll still be around commenting as much as I always have done, but it might be a while till you see a new post here!

  7. Aaack. I am going to miss Flick Chicks. However I will be on the lookout for your new platform! And the space above!

To be honest, not being able to keep a blog on schedule has been a long time problem of mine. I just went up to a month and a few weeks long without a post on our movie blog! I have a book blog that I haven't updated since September. So yeah, I feel ya. And I really need to work on this, make some sort of schedule...:)

Good Luck on your future plans Allie!

    1. I love having a schedule, it's just nice to keep posting regularly, but when you're running out of content that schedule turns into a nightmare and you just find yourself posting for the sake of it!

  8. Oh wow, I haven't read this blog in a while. I can understand December being a very busy time, and it can be hard to find good material. I've also found yself branching out into discussions of video games.

If it is any interest, I do have one activity planned for December.Oh wow, I haven't read this blog in a while. I can understand December being a very busy time, and it can be hard to find good material. I've also found yself branching out into discussions of video games.

If it is any interest, I do have one activity planned for December. It's nothing fancy but I'm hoping it will provide some structure: http://hitchcocksworld.blogspot.ca/2016/11/twelve-wars-to-christmas.html?m

  12. I'm gonna miss you ladies! But totally understand. I've struggled with blogging as well, though I do have commitments to keep it up (for various reasons). Lately my attention has shifted to screenwriting and preparing for a script reading in January, but I always miss the discussions with fellow bloggers. So hope you won't go away entirely. In any case, have a lovely Christmas Jenna & Allie!

  13. Laugier knows his classics and does not hide his sources of inspiration (Tobe Hooper, Robert Aldrich, Rob Zombie in particular). watch movies 2k Ghostland is however much less original and radical than Martyrs. megashare9 And the film recycles elementary visual artifices and unproductive jumpscares: annoying and almost insulting. los movies Let's move on to the pitch that serves as the basis for the film, which does not bother logic or credibility. 123movies Laugier first looks to shock the viewer and, obviously, seen the comments on the web, seems to achieve it without I can't understand why. zmovies I mean, since Hostel, horror cinema has largely gone around the topic of sequestration. Also, once the rather good surprise of the middle of the film passed, Ghostland doesn't innovate really, in spite of its graphic universe too clean to be really disturbing.

  14. In terms of the future, I've made preparations. This year I feel like I’ve truly found my passion for blogging, so much so that I’d like to expand my horizons a little. I'd like to read more books and write reviews for them, as well as discuss some of the games I play, but Flick Chicks isn't the place for that.
