Er, guys. I'm getting married this month. That's kinda scary to say (type?) out loud. Anyway, in light of this, I'm not even going to pretend that I'm going to make it to the cinema this month. I only managed it twice last month! Thankfully, it's a relatively quiet month for releases that I'm desperate to see. One stands out though, and it juuuuust about falls into May, thankfully. If the movie Gods are kind and it doesn't fall flat on it's face at the box office, I might just be able to catch it after the honeymoon.
Warcraft! I was a real World of Warcraft fan back in my prime, College days. I played an Undead Fire/Arcane Mage called Lunar, and was in one of the top raiding guilds on my server. Back in the day when you'd spend the whole night just trying to down one boss, accumulate enough DKP to roll for that nice chest piece that dropped, and then lose it to the newbie Warlock. Sorry, I've probably lost you all now. Wow, I didn't know you spoke a foreign language!!
My point is, a movie is finally being made based on a huge part of my teenage years. This is exciting! I'm also pretty sure it'll be terrible. If anyone can save it, it'll be Travis Fimmel. I love that man, even if he does happen to be on the Alliance side. Regardless, I'm manly looking forward to the game world being brought to life. It'll be pretty, even if the story is a disaster. I'm 100% giving you the heads up that I will leave this one for you and the other half, I will be giving it a very wide berth! haha!
Warcraft will be released in UK cinemas on 30th May, 2016.
I'm not even going to try to think outside the box for this one, a new Marvel film is out and I'm all over it like a fat kid on cake. I am desperately trying to see Captain America: Civil War early this time having missed Batman vs Superman entirely! :( Also, with the excitement that is Allie's hen do and wedding to look forward to I know i'm just going to forget entirely.
I haven't looked forward to a Captain America as much as this one before because I generally prefer the ensemble cast ones like Avengers, but this has that feel about it with so many characters popping up. I half wish I hadn't seen the trailers now but I don't think the internet in general would have let me get away with not knowing the latest cameo.
Captain America: Civil War will be released in UK cinemas on 29 April, 2016.
OK so I could have sworn this came out 6th May and unfortunately I had already written this before I found out it was April, so sorry guys but I'm cheating this month!
I also was a huge World of Warcraft fan years ago and I'm very excited for the film, but I'm afraid it's gonna be disappointing. As a Marvel fan and Captain American lover, I really can't wait to see Civil War. I just hope it'll be as good as the previous Cap movie.
ReplyDeleteAnd congratulations on the wedding! I hope everything goes as smoothly as planned!
Yep, I feel that too. Couldn't we have just skipped straight to a Burning Crusade movie? We all know that would be amazing!
DeleteHaving just seen Civil War I can confirm - it's awesome ;)

Congratulations on your upcoming wedding!
ReplyDeleteI'm looking forward to watch Civil War (and avoiding reviews at all costs!) as well.
Eeek thanks!
DeleteI've just seen Civil War, I avoided everything, including the trailer, and it was so worth it!

CIVIL WARRRRRRRRRRRRRR!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!! 2 more days!!!
ReplyDeleteOkay, I can't contain my hype. I've never got into Warcraft, and now all I think about when I see it is that South Park episode that made fun of it.
That South Park episode is the closest on-screen adaptation us Warcraft fans have ever had! It's worryingly accurate, haha.
